Deleting your data
Everything Mediara Vault holds is on your own device and in your own Google Drive. Every deletion control is in your hands, works immediately, and needs no request to us.
Mediara Vault has no registration, no user accounts and no developer server. We hold no profile of you, no copy of your records, and no data to erase on request — so “delete my account” has no counterpart here. What exists is the data on your phone, and any encrypted backups you chose to put in your own Google Drive. Both are removed by you, using the steps below.
The optional Google sign-in creates no account with us either. It authorises access to your Drive, and you can revoke it at any time — see below.

1. Deleting individual records
Open the record and choose Delete. Every delete in the app is a soft delete: the record moves to More → Recycle Bin, where it stays restorable for 30 days before purging itself automatically.
To remove something immediately rather than waiting, open the Recycle Bin and use Delete forever on that item, or Empty bin to purge everything in it. A purge removes the record, its files, its search-index entries and its audit-log payloads.
The Recycle Bin is read-only in caregiver mode, so a read-only profile cannot purge anything.
2. Deleting a whole profile
Settings → Profiles → the profile → Delete. The profile and everything belonging to it — records, documents, reminders, Care-Mode data, its Emergency Card — moves to the Recycle Bin together, restorable for 30 days, then purged completely. Purging one profile never touches another.
3. Deleting everything on the phone
- Optional but cleaner: delete your profiles inside the app first, then empty the Recycle Bin.
- Uninstall Mediara Vault. Android removes the app’s private storage with it — the encrypted database, the encrypted file vault and every key it held. This is immediate and irreversible.
- Delete your backups if you have any — uninstalling the app does not touch them. See the next section.
- Delete any files you exported yourself: saved
.mediarabackup files, and any PDF summaries or documents you shared or saved elsewhere.
Uninstalling is permanent. There is no copy on our side and no way to undo it. If you might want the data later, take a backup before you uninstall. And never use Android’s “Clear data” to fix a problem — the app’s data is your medical record.
4. Deleting your Google Drive backups
One backup at a time — from inside the app
Open Backup & Restore and tap the bin icon beside the backup you want gone. It is removed from your Drive immediately, and nothing on the phone is touched. This is the only way to remove a single backup.

- Open the Google Drive app, or go to drive.google.com.
- Open Settings (the gear icon).
- Choose Manage apps.
- Find Mediara Vault and choose Delete hidden app data.
You will not find these files by browsing Drive, and that is by design. Backups are written to Drive’s private per-app folder, which does not appear in My Drive, in search, or in your file list. Only Mediara Vault and the Manage-apps screen can see it — which is why nothing in your Drive looks like a backup.
“Delete hidden app data” deletes every backup at once, permanently. They exist only in that folder; there is no second copy anywhere. If you want to keep something first, use Backup & Restore → Save encrypted backup file to write a .mediara copy you control, then delete.
5. Removing the app’s access to your Google account
Go to your Google account → Security → Third-party apps & services (or “Third-party access”) and remove Mediara Vault. That withdraws the app’s permission to reach its Drive folder.
Revoking access does not delete the backups already there — delete those first if you want them gone, using the steps above. You can also disconnect the account inside the app, under Settings → Google account.
What Mediara holds about you
Nothing that we could delete on your behalf. To be specific about the only items that exist off your device:

If you want to send a deletion request anyway
You are welcome to write to support@mediara.care. We will confirm what this page says and help you find the right control — but we cannot delete anything for you, because we have nothing of yours to delete and no technical route to your device or your Drive.
Whatever rights your local law gives you over your personal data — access, rectification, erasure, portability — the app itself is the mechanism, and it is a more complete one than any request to us could be: you can read everything, edit anything, delete anything, and export the lot as an encrypted archive. Cancelling Mediara Plus
Subscriptions are managed in Google Play, not in the app: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges, and Plus stays active until the end of the period already paid for.
Cancelling deletes none of your data. Every profile and record stays fully usable, reminders keep firing for all profiles, and backups keep including everything — see what happens when Plus ends. Cancelling and deleting are separate actions; if you want the data gone too, follow the steps above.
