Children’s Privacy Statement

1. The app is for adults; child records are guardian-managed

Mediara Vault is not directed at children and is not intended to be used by children. It is a tool for adults — 16 or older, or older where local law requires, see Terms of Use §3 — to manage personal and family health records.

A parent or legal guardian may create a profile for their child inside their own Mediara Vault installation, for example to track a child’s vaccinations, growth and doctor visits. That child profile is a record held by the guardian, on the guardian’s device, exactly like a paper vaccination booklet in a parent’s drawer.

When a profile is created for someone else, the app asks for a just-in-time confirmation at that moment that you are entitled to hold those records.

2. We collect no data from children — or from anyone

The developer operates no server and receives no personal data from the app (see the Privacy Policy). This applies with full force to children’s data:

We do not collect, store or have access to any child’s information.
Child-profile data exists only in the encrypted store on the guardian’s device, and inside encrypted backups in the guardian’s own Google Drive if the guardian enables backups.
There are no analytics, no tracking and no social features anywhere in the app, for any profile.
A child’s records are never used to target anything, and could not be — they never leave the guardian’s device. This holds regardless of any advertising the app may carry in a future release; see Privacy Policy §6a.

Under the US COPPA framework: the app is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly — or otherwise — collect personal information from children. The architecture makes such collection impossible.

Under GDPR Article 8 and comparable laws: the processing of a child’s data happens on the guardian’s device under the guardian’s control; the developer processes none of it.

Mediara Vault is not enrolled in Google Play’s Designed for Families programme, and is not marketed to children.

3. Guardian responsibilities

If you keep records for a child, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise lawfully entitled to hold those records. The responsibilities in the Terms of Use §7 and the Data, Backup & Deletion Policy §5 apply to those records too: accuracy, backups, device security, and the choice of what — if anything — to expose on the emergency card.

As a child grows up, local law may give them rights over their own health information. Handing over or deleting their records when appropriate is the guardian’s responsibility; the app’s export and profile-deletion features support both.

4. Vaccination and paediatric reference content

The app’s vaccination catalog and any paediatric reference content are general information only, and they vary by country and over time. Your national immunisation schedule and your paediatrician control — see the Medical Disclaimer §3.

If you believe a child is using the app directly in violation of our Terms, note that we have no technical means to detect or verify users, or to access any installation’s data. The remedy is deletion of that installation’s data by whoever controls the device — see Data, Backup & Deletion Policy §7.
